CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
NPSA 2023 Annual Meeting

The call for abstracts has CLOSED.  NPSA is scheduling for approximately 30 abstract presentations. 

That disparities in access, representation and outcomes in healthcare and surgery exist has been documented for many years. The North Pacific Surgical Association is committed to addressing diversity and inclusion in surgery and as well as eliminating disparities in health/ surgical outcomes for our patients. As such we are encouraging our members, residents and fellows to consider presenting work on these issues in the surgical realm or to consider clinical research projects with an eye towards addressing these issues in surgery in substantive ways that maybe shared at future meetings to encourage all to be involved to change our systems in positive ways.

Abstract Submission Instructions

• Abstracts submitted by residents will be eligible for the resident competition prize.
• Abstracts accepted for paper presentation at the meeting will be submitted for publication in the American Journal of Surgery. The author-correspondent will be notified of acceptance by the end of July.
• We will confirm receipt of all abstracts, so please contact us if you haven’t received confirmation after abstract submission. Abstracts accepted by online submission only
• The abstract deadline (extended) Friday, July 7, 2023 at Midnight
• Abstracts should be a maximum of 250 words.
• Presentations are 15 minutes between abstracts allowing for presentation, discussion, closing. For presenter instructions, click HERE
• Details on abstract presentations, including length of presentation, discussion, and closing will be sent out in the summer after selections are made.  If the abstract is selected for presentation, a completed manuscript is due prior to the meeting. 
• Edit carefully and check for errors!

Abstract Format

All submitted abstracts should adhere to the following format:

• Background
• Methods
• Results
• Conclusion
